FWIW, Synchronization works perfectly over the Internet using a SyncML
server such as ScheduleWorld[1] and SyncEvolution[2]. As a bonus, you get a
backup of your data in the cloud. This of course is this system's weakness as
well: a third party has a copy of your data, unless you're willing to run your
own server[3].

[1] http://scheduleworld.com/

Might not be of a lot of help to you, but with debian sid, multisync0.90
(which is actually 0.92) I can happily synchronise contacts and calendar (!)
between my new E71 and evolution - back and forth, regardless of where I
changed something. I found that quite impressive, as my last syncing
experiences were a few years ago and not so impressive.

Next time, pick a better distribution.

http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/2009.0_...

I have no personal experience with Ubuntu, but from the pleas for help and
so forth I've seen on IRC and mailing lists, Ubuntu's opensync packaging
experience seems to be...not good.

I maintain the Mandriva synchronization stuff, and I wrote the Wiki page
too. The instructions on there are tested to work correctly, using a Nokia 6300
as a test device.

Looks really good. A tad Apple-esque, but I'll let that pass... Someone
needs to invent a cover-flow killer, then we will be safe :P
Possibly if the blue glows in the default theme were replaced with a different
colour (white?), it would look less like Front Row.

UI is definitely not slow for me. In fact, I find it way faster than before!
Finding a Shoutcast station seems to have improved drastically.

I noticed that it is really difficult (nay: Impossible?!) to get back to the
controls for music that is playing if I start viewing pictures. I think there
should be a Now Playing UI somewhere, possibly with an extra item in the main
menu.

The new screenshots look a lot nicer than the last interface (which was
terribly cumbersome to navigate when you have more than a few files) - I hope
my 'humble' P4 2.4ghz/GF5200 media box can keep up with it now

This is a great improvement, support for the apple remote would be great
but this is a great release. I can now play my theora video files and flac
music files. The UI is also much improved.

One suggestion with the key bindings - perhaps tab could be used to navugate
through the different options. I used it and expected it to work - this is the
default behaviour in most applications. Also perhaps the escpace key could be
used to go back, and finally quit when its pressed at the mian screen?
